The Foundation What Really Matters (LQDVI) will celebrate next Tuesday, December 19, the sixth edition of the book delivery ceremony ‘Your story really matters’, its volunteer project to bring people from different generations closer to from young narrators who act as biographers of older people and are responsible for capturing the stories of their lives in a book.
This new ceremony honoring older people, in which the 30 couples made up of the narrators and protagonists of each story will be present, will start at 12:00 p.m. in the Rafael del Pino Auditorium, will be led by the presenter Jota Abril and will feature the assistance from the singer Raphael, the journalist and writer Natalia Figueroa and will feature interventions from the Minister of Family, Youth and Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid, Ana Dávila; the general director of Care for the Elderly and Dependency of the Community of Madrid, Óscar López; and the general director of Education, Youth and Volunteering of the Madrid City Council, Carlos Anselmo, among others.
‘Your story really matters’ is a project of the LQDVI Foundation in alliance with the Telefónica Foundation and the “la Caixa” Foundation, with the collaboration of Sanitas and the participation of the General Directorate of the Elderly of the Community of Madrid and Volunteers for Madrid.
‘Your story really matters’ was awarded at the 1st Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards as the winning project in health and well-being for its work in honoring our elders, fighting against unwanted loneliness, creating unique links between narrators and protagonists and promoting learning between different generations.
