Spanish golfer Jon Rahm received a huge ovation this Saturday on the San Mamés pitch before the Athletic Bilbao-Atlético Madrid kick-off (2-0), in a moment of recognition that ended up not going exactly… as expected. The PGA Tour, the organization responsible for professional golfers, banned the player from being present at the stadium wearing the much acclaimed green jacket, which distinguished him as the winner of the Augusta Masters, after Rahm had signed an agreement with LIV Golf, the Saudi Arabian championship.
Therefore, Rahm, 29 years old, appeared ‘equipped’ with an Athletic Bilbao scarf that he ended up wearing throughout the match, even after going into the stands.
