They arrived a little over a month ago and the objective is to spread art throughout the neighborhood, although, if possible, throughout the city. Of course, an art contemplated from a gender perspective and focusing on the work of women who have always remained in the background: here they are the protagonists. Welcome to Creatitis (Hernán Cortés, 9).
The creators of the project, Ana and Tatiana, contribute their knowledge so that it continues to grow. They have managed to bring together knowledge, affordable prices and originality; each work’s history and creator are known. One of the objectives is to connect and bring together meeting points between the client who buys and the professional who sells. From Creatitis they report that in large cities like Madrid there is an audience, especially in this neighborhood (Justicia); just like an identified niche of fans. «The nice thing is to reach that client who repeats, who interacts with the artists and who bets on this. We want to build a community and not only know each other through Instagram, but rather it is a sum of synergies,” they say. In this way, they confess that social networks have been of great help to them since they need to be located and know that they exist, yes, without forgetting the main purpose: to reach sculpture, move to 3D, achieve more intermediate prices and democratize the art. “We are looking for limited series and to be a guarantee of collection.”
Meet the artist
At Creatitis they dedicate space and time to workshops that give visibility to the artist. This is “Meet the artist”, which lasts approximately six hours, including catering and wine. «We are talking about an experience in which we wanted to achieve that transition between school and fun. It is intended for all types of audiences, also for new artists, illustrators or painters who need advice and meet people in the industry,” explain the founders.
The space has a part dedicated to sales and another to exhibitions – one is held monthly. Content is highly valued at a collector level and it is recognized that here, in Madrid, there is traffic, since outside of large cities like the capital or Barcelona it is much more difficult to reach the public. The criteria for exhibiting come from a wide network of artists that the owners, Ana and Tatiana, already knew previously due to their career and experience in the sector. «We are looking for 360 artists, who are suitable for sales, exhibitions and workshops. Always women of course, in the broad sense. “We want to naturalize their presence and we hope that over time things will equalize.”

This month we meet Ingri Mariscal, who shows us his works made with the recycled cardboard and watercolor technique. He handles himself in oil, acrylic, watercolor… “and whatever they ask me for,” he confesses. Of course, “I always have to understand and connect with my work,” he adds. «I have a weakness for the world of art, especially for painting and photography. This comes from my grandfather, who was a painter and poster artist. Ingri grew up in her grandfather’s workshop watching oil paintings and cameras, between colors and planes, she felt attracted to all of it. «When I wanted to embark on this field I chose a career in Fine Arts, and then I decided to fight for it despite the difficulties. My partner, a guitarist, also inspired me to fight and not throw in the towel.
Ingri Mariscal defines his style as realistic, he pays attention to what surrounds him. In this case we appreciate music and flamenco. And his most used technique: watercolor, colors and transparencies. She considers it very necessary to participate in these projects that give visibility to women. In her case, she has carried out the work of creative women, since “women come together for something common, supporting and giving each other feedback is very nice.” In her workshop, in addition to having a pleasant time, she hopes that attendees leave with a main message: wanting to bet on her artistic vocation, to continue learning.
He recognizes that it is difficult for people to invest in art, the step of paying for a work continues to be a stone in the road, especially if we talk about emerging artists who are starting: «It is very difficult for a client to jump into buying and It happens rarely, but sometimes it happens. And for a person to decide to buy a work from you because he or she has fallen in love with your work is something beautiful. In the end, they believe in you,” she concludes.
Challenging stereotypes
Ana, a designer, and Tatiana, a photographer, have joined forces to create Creatitis, a project aimed at challenging stereotypes and breaking down the barriers that women artists face in the industry.
With extensive experience in the art world, both have faced the difficulties and lack of opportunities that often stand in the way of many female artists. In response to this challenge, the idea arose to form Creatitis as a meeting point dedicated to giving visibility to the work of more women artists. Creatitis has a clear mission: to change the landscape of women’s art. They organize exhibitions, talks and cultural events that highlight the talent of their collaborating artists, establishing meaningful connections with the public. In addition, they offer workshops and courses to encourage learning and artistic growth.
A fundamental component of Creatitis is the sale of works of art. Ana and Tatiana are dedicated to promoting and marketing their artists’ creations, ensuring they receive the recognition and compensation they deserve for their talent and effort. They also offer interior design services for those who want to integrate art into their living and working spaces. Since the project’s inception, the space has achieved significant milestones and established a strong network of artists. Their commitment is to continue growing and expanding their activities to support and give visibility to more women artists in the future. Ana and Tatiana are excited about the future of the business and the positive impact they hope to have on the art world. Her determination and dedication are testament to the transformative power that collaboration and creating an inclusive space for women artists can have. With Creatitis, they are marking a new chapter in the history of art, where women can flourish and be recognized on equal terms.
Thus, in Hernán Cortes, 9 go beyond cultural exhibitions by offering a complete experience.
