Fredriksstad Blad: Lars Ole Johansen, perhaps best known as “Rikingen”, has been a sight to behold for many years the income peak in Fredrikstad.
The 58-year-old, who lives in Kråkerøy, is chairman of Oslo Liftutleie AS.
In 2009, he became a national celebrity VGTV series “Rikingen”.
Johansen is originally from Fygle.
Gone from the list
But when the tax lists were published last week, he was nowhere to be seen on the list in Fredrikstad.
And there is another explanation for that.
– Rikingen is not poor, he assures Fredriksstad Blad on the phone and laughs.
– I was seriously ill in 2021. At the hospital I was told that I had to have an address in Oslo to get the help I needed. I own an apartment in Oslo, so I announced a move there, he explains.
And continues:
– But then it turned out that I didn’t get this medical attention anyway, so I reported moving back to Fredrikstad two days later, again.
These two days with a residential address in Oslo meant that he also paid taxes to the municipality, instead of to Fredrikstad as he usually does.
“Lost” 6.4 million tax kroner
In 2022, Johansen had an income of NOK 17.2 million. That is five million more than the previous year.
He paid 6.4 million of these in taxes to the capital.
– I want to contribute to the local community here in Fredrikstad – not to contribute to new cycle paths in Oslo, he says and laughs again.
Johansen is listed as having NOK 19.2 million in assets.
Had he been registered in Fredrikstad, he would have been number six among those with the best income last year.
Recovery
It is therefore the rental of lifts and other vehicles that is his livelihood.
– The construction industry has told of tougher times and fewer jobs. Is there anything you notice?
– It was a bit quiet at the beginning of this year, but then things picked up later in the year. We have had a big recovery, he says.
– We actually rent out for all sorts of assignments, now we are, for example, at the Castle and working. And the assignments are distributed over large parts of the country.
Also for the next year, a good number of job orders have come in for Oslo Liftutleie.
– Now we are working hard to get a green business and we have invested a lot of money in electrical machines.
