Music Singer and actor Olly Alexander (33) will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the United Kingdom next year. The news was announced on Saturday evening in the British TV program ‘Stricly Come Dancing’. Olly Alexander is known to us as an actor from the drama series ‘It’s a Sin’ and as the frontman of Years & Years.
Olly Alexander’s name was previously mentioned as a possible Eurovision candidate, but confirmation was not forthcoming. Alexander announced the news himself on Saturday in the TV broadcast of the dance program. “I love Eurovision so much, it’s a dream come true,” he told host Claudia Winkleman. “I’m just so, so excited.”
“I really can’t believe that I will be part of such a special tradition and wave the flag of Great Britain in the most cheerful way possible,” Alexander added. “I am determined to give everything I have and deliver an excellent and unforgettable performance for all of you.”

The song Alexander will take part in has not yet been revealed, but the BBC confirmed it was co-written by Alexander himself and Danny L Harle, who has previously produced hits for Dua Lipa, Chic and Charli XCX. Alexander previously appeared as an actor in the critically acclaimed series ‘It’s a Sin’.
The 2024 Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 7, 9 and 11 in the Swedish city of Malmö. The last edition was won for the second time by singer Loreen, this time with the song Tattoo.
