Ukrainian blogger, journalist and serviceman from the ranks of the Ukrainian army Anton Shvets came out with a sharp comment on Facebook in connection with NATO’s reaction to another downing of a Russian drone on the territory of Romania on December 14. The Alliance stated that there was no evidence of a deliberate attack, and with that the matter was closed.
The full text of Anton Schwetz’s comment:
My thoughts. About realpolitik.
As for the downing of the drone located on Romanian territory and NATO’s statements that the drone incident (Shahed) was not a deliberate attack – does it follow that nothing needs to be done and nothing will be done?
That is, if, say, the Russian Federation launches an inadvertent nuclear attack on Romania or Germany, nothing should be done? Right?
Let’s say that the Russian Federation decided to attack France. And she said it in plain text and in public. Kind of sorry France – order a special military operation with a nuclear strike. Kind of – now we’re going to hit Paris.
But the rocket did not fall in Paris, but in Romania. Or in Germany. So, nothing should be done? Well, they didn’t hit France! And they inadvertently hit Germany or Romania. That is all. No problems. They promised to hit Paris, but without wanting to hit Berlin.
NATO can do nothing. No deliberate strike against Paris. No reason. Berlin hit him unintentionally. No reason. God, what kind of world do we live in, my…my?
