Pierre Yovanovitch Opens 1,000 Square Meter Gallery in NYC’s Chelsea Neighborhood with Exclusive Furniture Line Debut

After opening his first gallery in Paris, Pierre Yovanovitch set out to conquer the United States. The interior architect and designer opened a nearly 1,000 square meter space on December 1 on the top floor of a pre-war building in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood.

Having launched his furniture line in 2021, he explains to AD to have “brought Paris to New York, and New York to Paris and Paris to New York. My space in Paris is well established. It is a traditional white cube, while the New York gallery is more reminiscent of a domestic space. The place has been arranged so that it presents several decorative sets.”

If Pierre Yovanovitch likes dapper colors, they are mainly neutral and warm tones – like a “Pompeian red” as he calls it – which adorn the New York gallery. Each installation is dedicated to a room, such as the kitchen, the office, the living room… A large staff fireplace, signed Pierre Yovanovitch, was installed in the middle of the gallery. This is one of his “trademarks”, he indicates.

Among the 80 pieces exhibited – several are for the first time – we find in particular his bar stools Hopper (an upholstered model with patinated or varnished bronze feet), as well as its chandelier Clover in blown glass and brass, but also its lampe You shut up mushroom shaped.
