That’s exactly what West predicts will happen to the Democrats’ current president and leading candidate, Joe Biden. West believes that even he will rather have to run against what he calls a “B team” of younger Democratic candidates.
The names he then mentions are California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

West explains:
– I’m just saying that I’m open to these possibilities, given that the situation is so fluid. He is about to run out of gas, West says of Biden.
For the record: Newsom has publicly endorsed Biden and said he will not run against him. Biden has not responded to Politico’s inquiries.
West is a well-known black philosopher and author in the United States, and is a former professor at both Harvard and Princeton. He is standing as a candidate in next year’s presidential election in the United States for the left-wing People’s Party.

Trump’s message
Earlier in December, Trump stated that he too does not believe that Biden will be the Democrats’ final candidate.
– Personally, I don’t think he will make it to the election next year. I think he is in bad physical shape. Mentally, I think he is just as bad and maybe worse, Trump said during a public meeting in Iowa broadcast on Fox News 6. December.

The reason why Johnson chose to retire in 1968 was manifold, but his own health must have been a major factor, writes Texas Monthly.
But he himself was also unsure whether he could win re-election, according to the report Washington Post. Johnson, who took over as president when John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, won by a landslide in 1964, but lost much support because of the Vietnam War.
The ’68 election ultimately ended up being a duel between Vice President Hubert Humphrey and Richard Nixon. The latter won the election for the Republicans.

Back to West, who is in no way a supporter of either Trump or Biden and says his coalition is young voters and disaffected voters who feel no strong support for either party.
