Meta has promised to bring Xbox cloud games to the Meta Quest headset for some time, and now Meta Quest 2, Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro users can finally play Xbox cloud games through the headset. But before you jump in, in addition to having a high-speed Internet connection, the latest Quest software update, and a compatible controller, you’ll also need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
After installing the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) app, you can choose four virtual monitor sizes to play in an Xbox-themed virtual space; if you are using Quest 3 or Quest Pro, you can also connect the virtual screen to the outside world. Combined, they create the effect of the screen floating in mid-air. As for supported controllers, in addition to Xbox controllers, PlayStation 4 and Switch Pro accessories are also supported, but DualSense support for PS5 will come later.
This is the second major update to the Quest family in recent times, following Steam Link support. Although there have been unofficial ways to use Xbox cloud games on Quest, after all, the genuine software has more complete functions and more sufficient support.
