The co-stars of Chief Inspector Van In are known: Nathalie Meskens (41), Ruth Beeckmans (41) and Sven De Ridder (49) will be on stage during the new theater concept ‘Aspe – Murder in the studio’. Last month, Herbert Flack (74) announced that he will reprise the role of his legendary character.
Ten years after the last episode of ‘Aspe’ on VTM, there will be a theater performance of the famous program. Producer James Cooke announces Herbert Flack’s co-stars: “I’m sure: Herbert will be very well surrounded by these three great guys.” None other than Nathalie Meskens, Ruth Beeckmans and Sven De Ridder will be at his side.
Cooke thought the three were a logical choice, because the story takes place in a television studio. “Ruth, Sven and Nathalie are three versatile actors with a lot of experience in the TV world. A real must in this new, interactive theater piece in which the audience witnesses a murder in a TV studio together with Van In,” says James. Meskens presented the VTM program ‘Dear viewers’ for many years, where Beeckmans and De Ridder were the team captains. “Sven and Ruth also feel like fish in water in a television studio,” says James Cooke.
The performance takes place when Van In has already retired. Just before the recording of a popular TV show, in which Nathalie Meskens plays the hostess, the director of the program is found dead. It soon turns out that the man was poisoned. Central guest in the show that evening: Chief Inspector Van In. The young inspector De Swaef is in charge of the investigation and soon discovers that there are more people in the studio who have an interest in the director’s death. Will De Swaef succeed in solving this complicated puzzle and will Van In manage not to interfere with the murder case? Together with the public, who witnessed the murder, everything is done to unmask the murderer.
