Lawyer Rizieq ShihabAziz Yanuar said that the former high priest of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) supported the decision of the Ijtima Ulama which called for support for the victory of the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin (AMEN) at 2024 presidential election.
“IB HRS supports Ijtima Ulama’s decision. That’s right,” said Aziz to CNNIndonesia.com, Thursday (14/12).
Aziz said the results of the Ijtima Ulama forum were decisions made through deliberation. Rizieq, he said, supported the results of the deliberation.
“IB HRS likes deliberation and supports the results of deliberation,” he said.
Even so, Aziz emphasized that Rizieq Shihab’s decision in the 2024 presidential election had not yet been officially conveyed to the public.
“He has not officially conveyed IB HRS’s decision in the presidential election,” he said.
Previously, the Ulama Ijtima Forum was held on Saturday 18 November 2023 in Sentul, Bogor, West Java. This forum has recommended candidate candidate AMIN to be supported in the 2024 presidential election.
The Ulama Ijtima Forum also issued a 13-point integrity pact for AMIN couples. Recently, Co-captain of AMIN’s winning National Team (Timnas), Yusuf Martak, confirmed that the AMIN pair had signed the 13 integrity pacts.

Previously, Aziz assessed the AMIN couple’s steps in signing the integrity pact as a special commitment to the ulama and Indonesian society at large.
He will also instruct ulama and figures as well as the community to work together to support and make AMIN’s presidential candidate candidate successful in the 2024 presidential election contestation.
“As a consequence of the presidential candidate pair’s commitment to the integrity pact resulting from the Ulama Ijtima,” said Aziz.
