The dengue vaccine is already found in Rosario and customer queries in pharmacies are growing, although for now there is a low number of applications because not many units arrived.
From the College of Pharmacists they indicated to the program Telenight Rosario (El Tres) that the first ones arrived at the beginning of December and were sold out in a matter of days. He second batch arrived last week and it is expected that between Thursday and Friday there will be a greater distribution in Rosario pharmacies.
The Takeda laboratory vaccine is applied in two doses 90 days apart and costs 41 thousand pesos. It is covered totally or partially by some national prepaid plans, depending on the plan, but It does not enter the social work records.
“There are many inquiries at the moment, especially about the people who have suffered dengue and they have a medical recommendation. Many are waiting to know if the State is going to buy doses to apply to the population,” explained the head of the Rosario College of Pharmacists.
The vaccine Qdengue, from the Japanese laboratory Takeda, was approved on April 26 passed by the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (Anmat) for “all people over 4 years of age, whether or not they have previously had the disease,” specified the Ministry of Health.
It is a two-dose immunization schedule, which must be administered with an interval of three months and, since it is a vaccine composed of live attenuated viruses, it is contraindicated for pregnant women, breastfeeding women and immunosuppressed people.
