The film features actresses Helena Daras (Helene Darras) testimony that served as the basis for her to formally press charges against Depardieu for sexually harassing him on the set of director Fabien Ontengent’s 2008 comedy Disco. The Paris prosecutor’s office is currently investigating the allegations.

The documentary also uses footage from Gérard Depardieu’s trip to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea in 2018. In them, the actor is seen with a television crew, in the presence of whom he repeatedly makes obscene remarks and makes noises of a sexual nature directed at the women present, including one underage girl.

The first accusations of sexual violence against one of the most famous French actors came from the actress Charlotte Arnold (Charlotte Arnould) in the already mentioned 2018. The actress accused Depardieu of rape and sexual violence. Two years later, the charges were formalized and the case is still pending in several French courts.
On the other hand, in April of this year, the French investigative online newspaper “Mediapart” published a series of interviews with 13 women who shared their experiences in the context of various sexual offenses. Helen Daras also participated, detailing sexually inappropriate behavior on set by Depardieu. The total number of such examples covers the period from 2004 to 2022. In the summer, two more women connected to the French film industry joined the testimony.
