Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned Sri Lankan director Prasanna Vithanage says that cinema has become a means of political reaction for him as more than twenty-three percent of the people come from the country below the poverty line. He grew up watching the civil war in Sri Lanka.
Therefore, filmmaking was adopted as a medium to express the reaction, he said. He was speaking at a master class held as part of the International Film Festival.
Women are better than men in acting emotional scenes. This happens because men want to be portrayed as ‘macho’ characters. He said that child actors should be treated as actors and given proper guidance. Academy Deputy Director H. Shaji participated.
