Apple Expands Self-Service Repair Program to Czech Republic: Repair iPhone and Mac from Home Now Available

  • Apple has announced that it is expanding its self-service repair program to the Czech Republic
  • Experienced users in the Czech Republic should thus be able to order parts and carry out repairs from the comfort of their homes

Apple is expanding its recently announced Self Service Repair program and introducing a new diagnostic tool that offers users more transparency and autonomy in resolving potential issues. The program, which Apple announced in 2021, launched in April 2022 and came to Europe only at the end of last year, will now finally be fully available in the Czech Republic.

You can repair iPhone and Mac from the comfort of your home

According to original information from December 2022, Apple introduced a self-service repair program in eight European countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The program is now available in another 24 European countries.

Among them are Croatia, Denmark, Greece or the Czech Republic. Apple boasts that thanks to the new expansion, the Self Service Repair program can be used by owners of 35 different brand products in 33 countries and in 24 languages.

Specifically, the program is available for the following products: iPhone 15 (all four models) and Macs with M2 chips, including 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, 15-inch MacBook Airs, Mac minis, Mac Pros, and Mac Studio. About new computers with M3 chips with Apple in the official press release does not mention

Don’t overlook

Fix it yourself. Apple starts selling original spare parts for iPhone and Mac in Europe

In practice, the self-service repair system works in such a way that an experienced customer orders components directly from Apple himself, performs the repair or replacement, and returns the excess components. However, the manufacturer continues to warn that if users are not skilled in repairing electronic devices, they risk damaging their device and thereby voiding the warranty. They can still take their broken iPhone or Mac to an authorized service center.

The new Apple Diagnostics tool

As for the new tool we reported on in the introduction, it is the Apple Diagnostics utility that Apple is launching today in the US. Europe will see it next year. The Apple Diagnostics tool is designed for users who can handle Apple device repairs themselves.

This is because it puts in their hands the means with which they can test the functionality of the components and detect any damaged parts, just like in authorized and independent service centers.
