Ajax will make an attempt to bring Julian Rijkhoff back this winter, reports say Football International. The eighteen-year-old striker already played in Amsterdam between 2012 and 2020, before transferring to Borussia Dortmund.

The interest is striking, since Ajax has done much the same with Brian Brobbey in the past. The attacker moved to RB Leipzig and was later bought back. Such a scenario is also lurking with Rijkhoff. The four-time international of the Dutch O19 team is still with Dortmund until mid-2026, which means that Ajax will have to open its wallet.
Rijkhoff will play his matches this season at Dortmund U19, with which he also plays in the Youth League. With the promising team of The Black and Yellows, active in the 3. Bundesliga, the striker is regularly on the bench. He has not yet played for that team this season.

A debut in Dortmund’s main squad is still a long way away for Rijkhoff. In the A-selection he has competition from Sébastien Haller and Niclas Füllkrug, among others.
