The Lot-et-Garonnais singer, Christian Hilo independently released his EP “J’apprends à vivre”, on November 17.
Originally from Saint-Romain-le-Noble, the 34-year-old author, composer and performer has two passions, rugby and music. “Music has been my passion since I was little. I taught myself the guitar at 15,” he says.
This EP undertakes a larger project, an album which should be released in 2024. The title “J’apprends à vivre” was born during the pandemic: “it was covid that made me want to start writing again”, confides Christian Hilo.
To realize it, the composer returned to Vincent Lebret, a sound engineer with whom he had already worked. “I had recorded a first EP in Paris and I came back to the sound engineer”. The November 17 EP was recorded and edited partly in the department but also in Paris.
A homemade clip
For the clip, Christian Hilo turned to the Inigo Brothers, whom he has followed for a while on social networks. Run by two brothers, Vincent and Sébastien Inigo, former Agen rugby players, the studio notably produced Francis Cabrel’s latest music video. After sharing his project with Vincent who immediately understood what the composer wanted to do, all that remained was to film. Whether it’s the locations or the production company, everything comes from Lot-et-Garonne. “We shot the clip with friends in one day, it was a great time, the clip exudes joy and good humor,” rejoices Christian Hilo.
The title is available on all streaming platforms and is for pre-order on a 45 rpm vinyl.
