Actress Yulia Peresild, in her speech at the Theater Star award, admitted that she was insulted twice at the event. The words of the artist are reported by The Voice.
“Of course, this award can be forgiven for two insults, one after another. First: prize for beauty… Thank you very much! I hope that there is still a little intelligence and talent there too. Second: I am Peresild, but God bless him… I forgive you everything!” – noted the actress.
The publication emphasizes that Peresild named the prize for beauty in the nomination “Best Role of a Theater Actress in Film,” in which she won. She was nominated for the drama “Defiance,” which was partially filmed in space. In addition, on “Theatrical Star” the presenter Vladimir Slutsky twice mispronounced the artist’s last name.
“In fact, this nomination is very unusual – theater actress in cinema, because cinema and theater themselves are two different spheres, and they do not like each other. <...> By the way, there is no such award in cinema, so the theater, you see, treats cinema with some great respect,” the artist concluded.
In total, the awards were presented in 18 categories, of which 17 were determined by viewers through online voting, and three “Legends of the Stage” were chosen by the editors of the Teatral magazine and approved by the public council of the award. The production of “Zoyka’s Apartment” at the Pushkin Theater was recognized as the best performance, and Vladimir Pankov was recognized as the best director.
