Aiko, real name Alena Shirmanova, was born in Moscow, grew up in the Czech Republic and currently lives in Brighton, UK.
She is the first Czech artist whose face was depicted in New York’s Times Square thanks to her involvement in the worldwide Spotify Equal campaign.
In 2018, she debuted with an EP, two years later she released the album Expiration Date, and this year the album Fortune’s Child.
She performed at the Sziget and Waves Vienna festivals, and gave concerts here at the Rock for People and Metronome Prague festivals.

Eurovision has been held every year since 1956, except for the covid 2020 year, making it the longest-running international televised music competition and one of the longest-running televised programs in the world. Fifty-two countries have participated in it at least once.
Last year’s winner was the Swedish singer Loreen. The Vesna girls group defending the national colors finished in tenth place.
