Actor Andre Braugher has died at the age of 61. The multiple Emmy winner was best known for his roles in Brooklyn Nine-Nine in Homicide: Life on the Street.
Braugher’s spokesperson confirms American media that the actor died after a short illness. What he suffered from has not been revealed.
In his later career, the American was best known as Captain Raymond Holt in the police comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He played this role from 2013 to 2021.
Braugher made his breakthrough in the 1990s with his leading role in the series Homicide: Life on the Street. In this he played detective Frank Pembleton. That role earned him an Emmy. He later won the prestigious television award again with his role in the miniseries Thief.
Braugher’s last acting job was in the crime series The Good Fight.
