Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan said presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto can’t stand being in opposition. TKN Deputy Secretary Saleh Daulay brought up that Anies left Jokowi’s cabinet and was raised by Gerindra.
“In the past, Mr. Anies actually left the cabinet, of course he was in the opposition group, because he left, of course he was at odds with the President, Jokowi at that time. So who raised this Mr. Anies? Yes, of course Gerindra, who was in the opposition at that time,” said Saleh in the 2024 Presidential Election Debate Special Perspective Competition program as broadcast detikcomTuesday (12/12/2023).
Regarding the statement ‘Prabowo cannot stand being in the opposition’, Saleh said that Prabowo was willing to join the government to unite the camps that were divided after the 2019 presidential election.
“Because of that, he with all humility wanted to enter the cabinet to complete what was happening in the cabinet and in that way he even said, ‘I studied with Mr. Jokowi in many aspects of political and democratic life in Indonesia’. He said, ‘This is the master, so “I have to study with Pak Jokowi,” explained Saleh.
“So there is no problem, Mr. Prabowo will continue the successful political achievements achieved by President Jokowi. And he will not hesitate to complete anything that is deemed incomplete, still lacking for good in the future,” he added.
