“I’m more interested in mysticism… We have a lot of joy, Christmas morning joy, but I’m more interested in what happens the night before – how that child is born, because there are also certain difficulties and problems… Well, a small portion of joy there will be anyway!” says Rihards Dubra about his new work, revealing more in the course of the conversation Christmas concert idea.
The composer also talks about his collaboration with the orchestra Sinfonietta Riga and Daumanta Liepiņa, about his other Christmas opus and the moods that prevail in them; about the piano music cycle created in the summer for Reinis Zariņa, which will be played during the suffering, about work in Ventspils, schoolchildren and Christmas time thoughts.
