Information has been cleared for publication that the bodies of Eden Zharya and Ziv Dado were discovered in a terrorist tunnel, near the house of the commander of the North Gaza brigade, Ahmad al-Andour. Ynet site wrote that Ahmad al-Andura was killed in the same tunnel on November 26.
On December 12, during a meeting to assess the situation in the 162nd Division in Gaza, Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced that two of Ahmad al-Andura’s brothers had surrendered to the IDF and were testifying to the Shin Bet.
Earlier in the evening of December 12, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces reported that during a joint operation of the 504 Military Intelligence Directorate unit and the 551st Reserve Brigade from the Gaza Strip, the bodies of Eden Zharya and Ziv Dado were returned to Israel.
Following an identification procedure carried out by medical personnel and the military rabbinate, army and police officials informed the families of Eden Zharya and Ziv Dado that their bodies had been recovered and returned to Israel.
Eden Zharya, 28, was attending a music festival in Reim when she was kidnapped by gunmen on October 7. Warrant Officer Ziv Dado, 36, in charge of logistics for the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade, was kidnapped and killed in the line of duty on October 7. The IDF informed his family of his death on October 25.
During the operation to search for the bodies of Eden Zharya and Ziva Dado, senior reserve sergeant Gal Meir Eizenkot and reserve sergeant Eyal Meir Berkovich were killed, and several servicemen were wounded.
Kan Bet radio war correspondent Carmela Menashe reported that forensic experts continue to work to establish the time and cause of Eden Zharya’s death.
