On Tuesday afternoon, emergency services found a 53-year-old woman dead behind the wheel of her car on the E34 near Vrasene in Belgium. Help was no longer of any use.
Camera images from the Flemish Traffic Center showed how the car had been standing on the hard shoulder in the direction of Antwerp since this morning with its 4 flashing lights. It was initially thought that the driver was sleeping.
Emergency services were sent to the scene around 2:30 p.m. to check what was happening. They found the driver lifeless. In all likelihood it is a natural death. Perhaps the woman felt unwell and that was why she parked on the hard shoulder.
Due to the incident, the right lane was closed to traffic for a long time, which caused a long traffic jam.
