UN Provides $1.9 Billion to Help Ukrainian Citizens, Including Cash Payments for Families with Multiple Children and Disabilities

Over the past year, the UN provided more than $1.9 billion to help Ukrainian citizens. About it reported on the government web portal.

In order to ensure that financial assistance is received by those residents of the country who need it most, the Ministry of Social Policy creates lists of citizens who most need humanitarian support, and partners pay cash benefits to these families.

Who will receive payments from the UN?

The government announced the launch in December of a joint project of the Ministry of Social Policy and the UN Children’s Fund UNICEF, within the framework of which low-income families raising more than three children, as well as children with disabilities, will receive cash payments to prepare for winter. It is planned to pay 333 million UAH for those who live in certain areas of the following regions:

  • Dnepropetrovsk,
  • Zaporozhye,
  • Kharkovskaya.

What is the amount of financial assistance from the UN?

Payments are provided for three months in the amount of 3,600 UAH per month for each member of such families, and for each child – an additional 6,660 UAH. It is planned to help 5 thousand families as part of the project.

“The implementation of the project will make it possible to provide financial assistance to those who critically need it, without increasing the burden on the state budget,” the government said, thanking the international partners who continue to systematically support our country.
