First convicted in Semilla case must pay Q7 thousand to the State

José Alejandro Rueda Lone, the first convicted for the so-called Case Seed, must pay a fine of Q7 thousand to the State of Guatemala.

Under strong security measures granted by the Public Ministry (MP) itself, Rueda Lone appeared before Judge Fredy Orellana to resolve his hearing for dignified reparation.

The now convicted person, within the case called Semilla Corruption, appeared in court after having accepted the law of acceptance of charges.

Rueda Lone, who is a former worker at the Citizen Registry of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, testified last week. She did so before the Seventh Pluripersonal First Instance Criminal Court, although the hearing was held behind closed doors. It was learned that he was sentenced for the crimes of influence peddling and breach of duty with a sentence of 2 years and 6 months in prison.

However, since by submitting to the law of acceptance of positions, he obtains benefits. Her sentence was reduced by half, so it was 1 year and 3 months in prison.

This benefit also allowed him to reach an agreement with the Attorney General’s Office. This is because with his illicit actions he must compensate the state of Guatemala.

On Monday, after a new hearing behind closed doors, Rueda appeared to inform the judge of the agreement with the PGN, so it was finally known that the payment that he must make to the state is Q7 thousand.

At the end of the hearing, accompanied by the assistant prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Impunity, Leonor Morales, and guarded by her bodyguards, Rueda did not make any comments, while the prosecutor stated that she could not give comments unless it was necessary. through the Social Communication Directorate of the Public Ministry.

After this, the MP’s protection team took the recently convicted man out of the court tower without him saying a word.

At the moment, the details of the statement that he may have given to Orellana remain unknown.

Unofficial versions state that Rueda spoke out about alleged links between members of the Semilla Movement party and TSE workers to validate membership forms with the alleged false data.
