Latvian “fintech” success story “Mintos”, which, according to some sources, makes up half of the entire P2P market in Europe, wants to become not only a platform through which loans flow to non-bank lenders, but one stop for creating a wide and safe portfolio. The head of the company and one of the founders, Mārtiņš Šulte, talked about the new opportunities to buy bonds and ETFs in the program “Nákotnes kapitāls”.
“Today it is already an investment platform, we offer different types of assets. We offer investments in bonds, and the first investors already have opportunities to invest in ETFs,” says Schulte, outlining that the company follows the trends of the financial world and wants to offer its clients wider investment opportunities.
One of them is bonds. The manager of “Future Capital” Konstantīns Kuzikovs has talked a lot about bonds in the past season, but he has not gone further than buying Latvian government savings bonds, because for an investor who does not have at least one thousand euros available right away, the offer of bonds is quite small. Fractional bonds solve this.
Schulte says that this is also one of the problems they want to solve. “This market is very archaic, it is difficult to understand where and how to search,” says the company’s manager, outlining the second problem, while the third, where “Mintos” wants to help customers, is the commission fee.
