Collaborating with Onekore Community Health Center, Ende Prison Conducts Infectious Disease Screening for All Inmates

Ende – Class IIB Ende Penitentiary (Lapas), which is one of the Technical Implementation Units under the NTT Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights led by Kakanwil Marciana D. Jone, carried out infectious disease screening for all inmates at Ende Prison, Tuesday (12/12/2023).
In collaboration with the Onekore Community Health Center, the health screening carried out is screening for infectious diseases such as HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), syphilis and hepatitis B.
Ende Prison Doctor, Dr. Arrasyid Lia Utami said that this health screening activity aims to ensure that prisoners and inmates in prison are healthy and do not have infectious diseases.
“Today, all inmates at Ende Prison took part in infectious disease health screening activities, which aim to check the health condition of the inmates and ensure that all inmates at Ende Prison remain healthy,” he said.
In a different place, the Head of the Ende Class IIB Penitentiary, Taufiq Hidayat, said that this health screening activity is routinely carried out and applied to all inmates at Ende Prison to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases in prison.
“This health screening is supposed to be carried out routinely at Ende Prison to ensure the health condition of the inmates, and it is also hoped that they can detect signs of infectious diseases as early as possible so that they can be treated immediately,” explained Head of Ende Prison.
Apart from health screening, the inmates were also given guidance and socialization carried out by the Ende Prison Doctor, Dr. Arrasyid Lia Utami to maintain personal hygiene and the surrounding environment, especially when entering the rainy season like now, in order to prevent the emergence of various diseases.
