Insomniac Games Hit by Rhysida Ransomware Attack: Leaked Documents and Marvel’s Wolverine Screenshots

mass media reportedWhat Insomniac Games suffered from a hacker attack by the Rhysida group. Hackers shared low-quality images of internal documents and even screenshots of the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine.

Among the documents are the passports of some studio employees and Yuri Lowenthal, the voice actor of Spider-Man in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The leak included confidential papers and emails that should not have become public knowledge.

The hackers said that Insomniac Games has seven days to pay the ransom. However, hackers are already holding an auction to purchase data, the starting price of which was 50 bitcoins (about $2 million at the time of writing the news). The lot description calls the data “unique” and “impressive.”

So far, Insomniac has not commented on the leak. And insiders expect the release of Marvel’s Wolverine to be no earlier than 2025. The events in it take place in the same universe as the Spider-Man games.
