The tennis legend Rafael Nadal and one of the world’s great promises, Carlos Alcaraz, will meet in an exhibition duel in the United States that will be held in Las Vegas on March 3, 2024.

As part of an event that will be produced by Netflix and that will be broadcast on the streaming platform under the title “The Netflix Slam”, Alcaraz and Nadal will face each other on the main court of the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas, with tickets now available for sale and a minimum cost of $88 dollars.

After the announcement, both Grand Slam winners spoke about their expectations for the match in which they hope will become a fantastic evening related to tennis.

The first to speak out, Nadal, expressed in a statement his satisfaction at playing with Alcaraz and declared that he is sure it will be “a fantastic evening of tennis.”

Alcaraz, for his part, expressed his admiration for the former world number 1.

Nadal and Alcaraz have met three times in ATP tournaments. For now, The score is in favor of the Balearic tennis player, with two victories to one for Alcaraz.

The Mallorcan tennis player, who is recovering from an injury to the iliopsoas in his left leg that he suffered in the last Australian Open, has not competed for almost a year.

Nadal, winner of 22 Grand Slams, plans to return to competition at the Brisbane (Australia) tournament that takes place from December 31, 2023 to January 7, 2024.

Participation in Brisbane will prepare Nadal to compete in the Australian Open, which will be played from January 15 to 28, 2024 in Melbourne.

Absence from competition for almost a year has placed Nadal in 668th place in the ATP rankings while Alcaraz is ranked second in the world, behind Novak Djokovic.

Gabe Spitzer, vice president of Non-Fiction Sports at Netflix, explained that with “The Netflix Slam” the digital platform will be able to offer audiences around the world “two of the best tennis players facing each other in an unparalleled live event.”

“A legend like Rafa and a champion like Carlos together on the court, plus much more action, promises to be a live show that fans won’t want to miss,” added Spitzer.
