The goalkeeper and captain of Arsenal’s last season, Alejandro Medina, who had a contract until December 2024, terminated his contract with the Sarandí club today, will not be facing the Primera Nacional in 2024 and is a free agent.
After the relegation to the second division of Argentine football, the captain, during the last year in the “Viaducto” team, is the first confirmed loss for next year, as was officially confirmed this Monday by the Sarandí club through a post on their social networks.
The 36-year-old experienced goalkeeper had arrived at “Arse” in 2021 from Quilmes and was a starter for the last three seasons in the first division, in total he played 104 games for the Sarandí club.
Mitre, from Santiago del Estero, would be one of the clubs interested in the goalkeeper; the people from Santiago want to repatriate Medina, a fundamental piece of the Aurinegro in the 2017 campaign when they were promoted to B Nacional.
On the other hand, Arsenal seeks to define the new coach for the Primera Nacional 20243, in recent days Alejandro Orfila and Sebastián Grazzini have been mentioned as possible options to take the reins of “Arse”.
