Gaza Strip Conflict: Latest Updates on War Between Hamas and Israeli Forces

Jakarta

War between groups Hamas and the Israeli forces continued to rage at Gaza Strip. To date, more than 18,200 Palestinians and 104 soldiers Israel has been reported dead amid an escalating humanitarian crisis.

Reported Al Arabiya and AFP, Tuesday (12/12/2023), the latest death toll from the Ministry of Health in Hamas-controlled Gaza was 18,205 people, most of whom were women and children. It was stated that 32 dead people had arrived at Nasser Khan Younis hospital in the last 24 hours.

The war was sparked by a Hamas attack on October 7 that killed around 1,200 people in southern Israel and led to dozens of hostages being taken to Gaza. Hamas warned that the remaining 137 hostages would not survive unless Israel met its demands and released more Palestinian prisoners.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on Hamas to “surrender now”. “This is the beginning of the end of Hamas. I say to the Hamas terrorists: It is over,” the right-wing prime minister said last Sunday, as reported by Al Arabiya.

Fierce fighting continued Monday at Gazawith Islamic Jihad militants saying they blew up a house in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis, where Israeli soldiers were searching for a tunnel.
