iOS 17.2 released, compatible with new apps “Journal” and “Spatial video shooting”

Apple began offering iOS 17.2 on the 12th. A new “journal” app has been introduced that allows you to look back on daily events and preserve memories in a new way, and it also supports calling “translation” with the action button. In addition, the camera function supports “spatial video shooting” on iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max.

A journal app is an app that allows you to write down daily events and look back on them later. In addition to written notes, outings, photos, workouts, and more are grouped together to help you easily recall your experiences.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support “spatial video shooting”. This feature allows you to capture your favorite moments in 3D, with Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) resolution of 1080p and 30 frames per second. Using computational video recording technology and HEVC compression, it is possible to preserve “memories of a space in a compact file size.”

Turn your iPhone sideways, tap the spatial video icon, and press the record button to start recording. Start recording video with both the main camera and the ultra-wide camera, scale the ultra-wide camera’s field of view to match the main camera’s field of view, and then save it into one video file.

The space videos you shoot are saved in the photo app’s Space and synced between devices via iCloud. Additionally, users will be able to “relive” the space using Apple Vision Pro, which will be released in 2024.

AirDrop expands your contact sharing options, allowing you to share valid passes like boarding passes or movie tickets by bringing two iPhones closer together. In addition, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 are compatible with the new standard “Qi2” charger.
