We want to make promises we can keep – the creators of The Finals on the lack of a roadmap and long-term plans

Last week, Embark studio, founded by people from DICE, released its debut project – a shareware shooter The Finals with an emphasis on team play and total destructibility.

At launch, the title offers four maps with modifiers, as well as three classes with unique weapons and gadgets. What further support there will be is a mystery. Embark Studios itself is in no hurry to share plans, noting that doesn’t want to make impossible promises.

We want to make promises we can keep. We’d love to provide you with a detailed roadmap for the years ahead, but we don’t know where the gaming service will take us. Plans will change.

We will constantly receive a lot of feedback from players, and we want to take it into account. We want to create a game that we can play ourselves and that gamers will love.

On the official Discord server, developers The Finals emphasized that they are now focused on the basic version of the shooter, its optimal performance for all players, as well as prompt bug fixes.

First season The Finals will last until mid-to-late February 2024. The shooter is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
