The President’s Nervous Behavior and Bulgaria’s Euro-Atlantic Path

“I am watching with interest the nervous behavior of President Radev, who for the second time in a few days is trying to confuse the Euro-Atlantic direction of Bulgaria by questioning the legitimacy of the National Assembly. It would be good if the President read his powers again and stick to to them”.

This is stated in the position of the chairman of the PG of the DPS Delyan Peevski, distributed by the press center of the party.

“It is not by chance that the Constitution has provided for exactly this division of powers and institutions, as a protection of the independence of the parliament and statehood from such an impact.

Things are, in fact, simple – the President does not like that Bulgaria will no longer wallow in the timelessness of his official governments, which led to geopolitical fluctuations and economic and social instability,” writes Peevski and continues:

“With the changes in the Constitution, for which the people’s representatives showed political will and agreement, this shameful episode of our political history ends and will never be able to be repeated.

The need for the existence of this parliament and this government is dictated precisely by the responsibility for Bulgaria to stand firmly on its Euro-Atlantic path, and this is the guarantee that it will never go to the East, towards Moscow”.

“Bulgaria today needs political stability, with a clear Euro-Atlantic affiliation and governance, for the benefit of the people,” Peevski’s position also states.
