Experts from the German magazine “Helpraxisent” reported that following a diet rich in carbohydrates can help lose body weight, but this depends on the type of carbohydrate.
The German magazine explained that carbohydrates are responsible for supplying the body with energy, while protecting against many diseases, and there are two types of carbohydrates: simple and complex.
The body digests simple carbohydrates easily, which causes blood sugar to rise. Simple carbohydrates include products made with white sugar, baked goods, cereals, and candy.
As for complex carbohydrates, they are digested more slowly, and thus the body has a continuous supply of sugar and a feeling of fullness and energy for a longer period. Therefore, German experts recommended eating whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables of various colors. Because these foods are rich in fiber, the feeling of fullness lasts longer.
In this way, weight is lost, in addition to achieving the known benefits of carbohydrates, such as reducing the risk of heart disease, reducing the risk of various types of cancer, improving insulin sensitivity, and reducing inflammation.
The German magazine’s experts warned against poor choices of carbohydrates, which may backfire and spoil the entire diet.
