Police rushed to Hovsjö in Södertälje shortly after 7pm after being alerted by residents who heard banging in the area on Saturday evening.
The police initially stated that four people had been shot, but the number was later adjusted down to three people.
The shooting victims were all found outdoors and close to each other.
– There was witness information that there were four people, but we have only found three, says Norton in the police.
A large police effort is underway in the area where the shooting took place.
– We are talking to witnesses and working with trace protection, says Norton.
Södertälje is just over 3 miles southwest of Stockholm.
