The Christmas markets in Germany are opening again – including in Bremen. The Bremen Christmas Market 2023 at the town hall invites you to stroll between the decorated stalls, snack bars and carousels until December 23rd. Over a period of 27 days, the Bremen Christmas market 2023 offers many stands and thus inspiration for gifts. The Christmas market and the Schlachte Magic, just a few minutes’ walk away, are also a popular destination for tourists.
The Bremen Christmas market extends across the cathedral courtyard, the market square and the churchyard of the Our Lady Church. Guests arriving by train will be greeted by the first stalls on the station forecourt.

The Christmas market in Bremen takes place from November 27th to December 23rd, 2023. Various stands and snack bars await you during this time. Here you will find an overview of the opening times:

Program for the 2023 Christmas market in Bremen
This year the Christmas market offers 148 different offers and attractions. A historic carousel rotates in the middle of the market square. It is surrounded by 38 craft stalls, 43 snack bars and 15 bars. Furthermore, 17 stalls offer a variety of confectionery, while another 32 stalls present clothing, jewelry, spices and toys.
In addition, every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., costumed characters walk on stilts through the Bremen Christmas market, accompanied by musical accompaniment. These creatures are not only a visual attraction, but also a bright spot in the dark season as their costumes are illuminated.
Bremen Schlachte magic at the 2023 Christmas market in Bremen
An illuminated circular path takes you from the Christmas market to Bremen’s lifeline, the Weser. The river promenade invites you to experience the Schlachte magic during Advent. As darkness falls, the battle is bathed in a special blue light, creating a special atmosphere during this time of year. Numerous small wooden huts invite you with delicacies. Artisans present their wares at various stands and often even provide insights into their work. You can taste mead or fruit wine at the medieval wooden stalls and watch the craftsmen and women at work. The opening times of the Schlachte-Zauber on the Weser are as follows:

The Christmas market extends across the market square between Roland, town hall and cathedral. Direct parking spaces are not available there. The organizers recommend using the surrounding parking garages.
