1440p gaming monitors seem to be less favored by gamers

It seems that 1440p gaming monitors are on the way out, at least if we take the information from Valve’s November hardware survey considering. The report shows that most gamers prefer a 1080p monitor as their primary monitor, and that gamers who use multiple monitors often have a combination of a 4K and a 1080p monitor.

The information shows that a 1080p monitor makes up 60% of all setups, and that a setup with multiple 4K-1080p monitors also makes up around 60% of the setups. This means that 1440p displays must operate within a 40% range, where they also compete with other screen sizes, meaning that the actual usage of 1440p displays is undoubtedly much lower than 40%.

The survey also shows that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 is the most used GPU, that most people have between 100 GB and 249 GB of free hard disk space and that the Meta Quest 2 is the most popular VR headset.
