The Red Sea International Film Festival announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Cultural Fund to be its official sponsor in its third session in 2023. This partnership comes as an extension of the Red Sea International Film Festival’s commitment to supporting talent in the cinema sector, enhancing creativity, and pushing the Saudi film industry into the global cinema scene. ; In confirmation of the Cultural Fund’s objectives aimed at enhancing the contributions of non-profit organizations to the growth and development of the Saudi film sector by diversifying the sector’s incentives, the two parties seek to ignite a cultural revolution that bears upon itself the mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in achieving its vision and enabling it to become a regional center for the film sector.
In this year’s edition, the Cultural Fund is participating in various festival activities, starting with participating in its own pavilion in the Red Sea International Film Festival Market, through which it communicates with local, regional and international filmmakers, and organizing a special lunch in which it hosted elite filmmakers and local and international companies, all the way to participating in networking sessions. Within the Red Sea 360 program, the Cultural Fund exchanges knowledge and experience about the needs of the Saudi cinema sector, the financing tools it provides to the sector, and the mechanism of its cooperation with other governmental and non-governmental agencies to meet these needs.
It is indicated that; The Cultural Development Fund was established with the aim of activating the sixteen cultural sectors identified within the National Culture Strategy, including films. Through this sponsorship, the Fund confirms its firm support for the Saudi film industry and reflects its commitment to empowering the entire sector and enhancing the quality of life in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This strategic partnership provides the ideal platform for the Fund to communicate with industry practitioners and experts, to introduce them to the comprehensive financing packages it offers them. Earlier this year, the Fund launched one of the largest financing programs dedicated to the film sector. The festival continues to collect a collection of the best works produced by Arab and international cinema, thus providing a platform for both filmmakers and actors to showcase their work and talents.
