Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi won the trial series before Saturday’s World Cup competition in Klingenthal. Andrzej Stękała – the best among the White and Reds at Sparkasse Vogtland Arena (HS140) – was classified in 15th position. The fifth competition of the current season will start promptly at 4:00 p.m.
The Olympic champion from Beijing – just like during Friday’s qualifications – again defeated Stefan Kraft, who was undefeated this winter. The representative of the Land of the Rising Sun achieved 141.5 meters, jumping in slightly worse conditions than the Austrian. The result of the leader of the general World Cup classification is 141 meters. They both started their jumps from the 11th starting platform. Timi Zajc from Slovenia took third place. The current world champion from a large venue showed off a flight measuring 141.5 meters – from the 12th beam. The object’s size was also exceeded by the fourth in the test series – Johann Andre Forfang (141.5 meters; 12th beam).
All Polish representatives were among the top 30. Andrzej Stękała did the best among our compatriots. A jump of 134 meters (14th beam) gave him 15th result. Piotr Żyła (126.5 meters; 12th beam) took 18th place, Maciej Kot (131 meters; 14th beam) and Dawid Kubacki (126.5 meters; 12th beam) took 24th and 25th place, respectively, and Paweł Wąsek (129.5 meters; 14th beam) closed the third ten.
Broadcast of the competition, scheduled to start at 4 p.m., on TVN, Eurosport 1 and Player.
