Dijon: the seniors’ Christmas meal was a success – Dijon News

Like every year, the 2023 edition of the seniors’ Christmas meal was a special opportunity for festivities and sharing at the Palais des Congrès in Dijon, in the presence of a very special guest of honor, Indira Ampiot, Miss France 2023. Nathalie Koenders, first deputy to the city of Dijon, was also present. This welcoming event welcomed some 2,800 guests over two memorable days, Thursday December 7 and Friday December 8, organized by the Municipal Social Action Center (CCAS) of the City of Dijon.

Carefully planned in February, this large-scale event mobilized a dedicated team of 30 CCAS volunteers, as well as 23 BTS tourism students from the Saint-Bénigne high school, who provided a warm welcome to the guests. In addition, 80 students from the hotel sections of the same high school contributed to the elegance of the event by setting the tables and ensuring impeccable service. Nothing could have been done without their presence, it is important to emphasize this.

As a reminder, the City of Dijon has identified 7,000 seniors over the age of 70. Only half took the initiative to register for this meal or to receive the surprise package, which will also be distributed from Monday at the Cité de la gastronomy.

Miss France 2023, Indira Ampiot, was also present at the event. This Christmas meal for Dijon seniors not only warmed hearts during this holiday season, but it also highlighted the importance of solidarity and volunteering. An unforgettable experience for all those who participated in this event, proving once again that the magic of Christmas lies in sharing and generosity towards others.
