Friday, December 8, EuroMillions brought a historic amount of 240 million euros into play, the biggest win in the history of the game. A first jackpot of 217 million euros, which was already the third largest sum of EuroMillions, could be won this Tuesday, December 5.
However, no player managed to match the correct numbers and the jackpot was not won and was put back into play, to the delight of the players who were able to try their luck for a larger amount.
A player wins 240 million euros
Ultimately, the incredible sum of 240 million euros was won, but the winning grid was not validated in France since the big winner is an Austrian. The correct numbers were 17, 30, 42, 48, 50 as well as the stars 4 and 8. According to Française des Jeux (FDJ), players had a one in 139 million chance of winning the jackpot.

So far, the biggest win in EuroMillions history was €230 million and was won in the UK in July 2022. In France, the biggest EuroMillions win was was pocketed by a Tahitian who played for the first time in her life and who collected 220 million euros in October 2021.
