The largest Kärcher distributor in the world, located in Temse, is bankrupt: “Put of 19 million euros”

The largest distribution center in the world of the well-known German brand Kärcher is bankrupt. The Kärcher Van Mol company is located in Temse. Two curators have now been appointed to delve into the accounting. “A lot of irregularities were found. It was mainly ING’s leasing company that sounded the alarm,” says Marga Pieters, one of the curators. The company mainly worked with leasing contracts for their customers, but that is where things went wrong. “There is a drain of 19 million euros. All accounts were blocked so the manager had no other choice to close the books.”

In the meantime, the manager’s personal belongings have been seized, including a three-million-euro yacht moored in Portugal. The manager’s exuberant lifestyle may be the cause of the bankruptcy. “More was spent than what came in. Then what is happening now is almost inevitable,” says Pieters.
