According to Today’s business in addition to the compensation from the state, there is a cover for legal expenses of NOK 1.7 million.
Dragesund was completely acquitted in the Oslo district court in 2019 of the charges of market manipulation and fraud in the so-called Severstal case. Two other defendants in the case have been sentenced to prison.
The former top broker’s lawyer, Henning Harborg, says he and the client are well satisfied.
– It appears that the court agrees that there was no behavior on Dragesund’s part that would indicate that he had the risk of the wrongful prosecution, says the lawyer.
When Dragesund submitted the compensation claim in 2020, it amounted to a total of NOK 20.7 million for lost wages and bonuses from 2015 until the acquittal.
