Wholesale gasoline is cheaper than before the elections and the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. A big difference at the stations

PLN 4,676 per cubic meter of 95-octane gasoline. This is the current price at which the product is offered in Orlen wholesalers. However, the average price of the same gasoline in Poland is still much more, because PLN 6.40 per liter.

The downward trend in prices offered by the fuel giant has been continuing for several days. Economist Rafał Mundry noticed a few days ago that the wholesale prices offered by Orlen for 95 and 98 gasoline are the lowest this year. Fuel is “cheaper than in the election promotion,” he said.

And although the economist expressed hope that this will translate into a “top five” at the stations, experts are cooling their enthusiasm in this regard. – The five in front on the pylons is an unlikely, but not impossible, scenario – said Dawid Czopek, fuel market analyst, in an interview with money.pl. – Taking into account what is currently happening, we should be closer to six than seven, especially on petrol – he adds.

Oil at $100 is getting further away

However, Poles can hope that fuel will become available. Crude oil prices reached their lowest prices in half a year. A barrel of West Texas Intermediate crude oil fell below the $70 per barrel mark on the New York Stock Exchange. And although it has rebounded from this limit, the raw material can still be considered cheap. Particularly in the context of concerns raised by the conflict in Israel.

After the attack by Hamas, experts feared an escalation of tension and oil prices above $100 per barrel. This scenario doesn’t work. So what can we expect? – Oil at USD 70/bbl and the USD/PLN exchange rate at PLN 4 This is actually a chance for cheaper fuel and a return to the prices we saw at the turn of spring and summer – concluded Dawid Czopek in an interview with money.pl.
