Sega revealed a bunch of sequel games

Even before tonight’s The Game Awards, Sega had announced something new and big. At the distribution party, we found out exactly what it was all about, and the Sonic maker has a bunch of news on the way.

The trailer at the top of the article confirms a total of five sequel games from several of Sega’s most famous series. Among these are Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and Crazy Taxi. The trailer also hinted at even more games, but we don’t yet know what they are.

According to Geoff Keighley, the five aforementioned series will have new features over the next few years. However, exactly when it will be or what we can expect from the games is unclear, so here we have to be patient.

Jet Set Radio had a renaissance of sorts earlier this year, in the form of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. The game was heavily inspired by the Sega series, and our reviewer allowed himself to be excited.

– Bomb Rush Cyberfunk effortlessly captures and continues the distinctive audiovisual style that made Jet Set Radio one of the hottest games of the 2000s. Much of the same still applies, whether you put together endless combos or perform high-flying tricks as if you were never supposed to do anything else, concluded Espen Jansen.
