YouTube lets channel administrators pause comments under videos

YouTube is releasing a feature that allows channel administrators to pause comments under videos. Viewers will not be able to leave new comments, but they will still be able to read previously posted comments.

The platform has been experimenting with the and function for ‘some time’ this one says now to all channel managers. The feature allows administrators to take a break from moderating comments without completely disabling comments, the platform reports. The pause feature appears in the YouTube app or in the YouTube Studio admin platform.

Channel administrators could already choose to disable the comment option entirely, but then the comments that have already been published will also be deleted. Administrators can also choose not to post some or all comments online until they have been approved. The new pause option is added to this.
