The Andalusian Health Service has organized, through the Almería and Poniente Primary Care Health Districts and the North Health Management Area, a new vaccination campaign without an appointment for the population, which aims to facilitate immunization for people who do not have have received no dose or have an incomplete schedule of any of the vaccines on the Andalusian calendar, including those for flu and Covid-19 for the groups for which they are indicated.
This campaign will take place on the 12th and 13th in the Almería Health District: Health Centers: Almería Centro, Vega de Acá, Cruz de Caravaca, La Cañada, Mediterráneo- Torrecárdenas, Nicolás Salmerón, Nueva Andalucía, Oliveros, Plaza de Toros, Virgen del Mar, Puche, Los Molinos Clinic, Alhama de Almería, Benahadux, Húercal de Almería, Carboneras El Lometico, San Isidro, Campohermoso, Níjar, San José Clinic, Abla, Abrucena Clinic, Gérgal de Fiñana Clinic, Birth, Sorbas Health Center and Taverns. In most centers the hours will be between 08:30 and 14:30 on the 12th, and on the 13th between 11:00 and 14:30 in Abla, Abrucena, Gérgal, Fiñana and Nacimiento.
In the Northern Health Management Area, the walk-in vaccination campaign will be carried out at the Serón Health Center, the Tíjola Clinic, the health centers of Cuevas del Almanzora, Huércal-Overa, Pulpí, Vera, Olula del Río , Macael, Albox, Vélez Rubio and Garrucha. In all of them it will take place from 08:30 to 14:30 on the 12th and 13th, except in Albox which will be from 12:00 to 14:30. In addition, on the 12th in Pulpí there will be vaccination without an appointment from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Poniente Health District will vaccinate on December 12 and 13, between eight thirty in the morning and two thirty in the afternoon, in the following health centers: Adra, Berja, Laujar, Ejido Norte, Ejido Sur, Las Norias, Santa María del Águila, Puebla de Vícar, La Gangosa, La Mojonera, El Parador, Aguadulce Sur, Roquetas Sur, Las Marinas and Roquetas Norte.
Appeal to citizens
From the Districts and the Area, a call is made to citizens to participate in this new mass immunization campaign. He recalled that vaccination is the most effective method for the prevention of infectious diseases. And that the immunity acquired as a result of it is mainly responsible for the global eradication of smallpox and the restriction of diseases such as polio, measles and tetanus in the majority of the planet.
Vaccines are one of the most powerful tools available in Public Health and have saved and continue to save the most lives, since they provide effective protection for the target population and their entire environment. They are formulated from weakened or dead forms of the microbe, its toxins or some of its proteins. They stimulate the person’s immune system to recognize the agent as a threat, destroy it, and keep a record of it, so that the immune system can more easily recognize and destroy any of these microorganisms that it may come into contact with later.
