The Transfusion Center and Radio Valencia Cadena SER have been organizing blood donation campaigns for 17 years. Since 2007, and always at Christmas, donors have a very special date with life, since they can attend the blood donation campaigns organized on these dates. This year it will be on December 14 at the MuVIM, which opens its doors to solidarity once again to host the day. Professionals from the Transfusion Center will assist the volunteers from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8:30 p.m. in the Gregori Mayans Room, located on the ground floor of the museum.
The Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community encourages society to join “The factory of life and donate blood”, since it is a product that cannot be produced artificially, it is only in us and depends on our patients will receive some of its components (red blood cells, platelets or plasma) to improve their quality of life and even save it.
Almost 3,000 volunteers have participated in these collaboration campaigns between Cadena SER and the Centre, which have managed to attract more than 250 volunteers to donate for the first time; new donors to count on in the future.
The program “Locos por Valencia”, directed by Arturo Blay and Amadeo Salvador, will be broadcast that same morning from MuVIM to reach out to its most supportive listeners. In the gathering, both the presenters and the guests always manage to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. Disconnections are made to obtain testimonials from live donors and many doubts and curiosities are resolved that always manage to bring smiles and commitment to life.
The requirements to donate are simple: be over 18 years old, weigh more than 50 kilos, not go fasting and be in good health.
